A laboratory technician works closely and with the advice of a laboratory technologist in the performance of diagnostic procedures. Procedures are performed as efficiently and expeditiously as possible. Laboratory technicians may exercise limited independent judgment and work under the supervision of a laboratory technologist, supervisor or director.
Education:
- Associate's degree in MLS (preferred)
- Certificate training program at an approved school for medical technician-level training leading to state licensure
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current Florida license for TC - Laboratory Clinical Technician
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
- Laboratory experience preferred.
Shift hours: Nights, 8 Hours - C2, Varies
