POSITION OVERVIEW:
Deal games efficiently and accurately while creating an atmosphere of hospitality and friendliness toward customers and co-workers. Stand or sit behind table games and dispense the appropriate number of cards and operating other gaming equipment. Distribute winnings or collect player's money or chips.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Knowledge of California gaming regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its requirements, including, but not limited to, Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting and Customer Identification requirements.
- Pay winnings or collect losing bets as established by the rules and procedures of a specific game.
- Stand or sit behind a gaming table and deal the appropriate number of cards to each player.
- Conduct games following all applicable rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain a friendly relationship with customers.
- Exchange cash for casino chips.
- Check to ensure that all players have placed bets before play begins and the cards are dealt.
- Inspect cards and equipment to be used in games to ensure that they are in good condition.
- Apply rule variations to card games such as poker, in which players bet on the value of their hands.
- Follow policies and procedures for dealing all games of poker including the handling of cash, chips, and cards as outlined in the Poker Procedures Manual.
- Apply rule variations to card games such as Black Jack, 3 Card Poker, Pai Gow, in which players bet on the value of their hands.
- Instruct players of the rules and specifications of the games while maintaining game integrity.
- Provide superior customer service.
- Perform any duties within the department as assigned by management.
- Compute payable odds to pay winning bets .
- Respons ible for table security at all times.
- Maintain a clean and neat table at all times.
- Report to work neat and clean, well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
- Maintains a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
HS Diploma or GED
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to understand the hands associated with poker, black jack, baccarat, and Pai Gow.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Bi-Lingual Spanish or Hmong languages a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must have manual dexterity to shuffle and pitch cards.
