Senior Scientific Services Support Specialist

Overview:
Join a dynamic team at client as a Senior Scientific Services Support Specialist. This role is crucial in providing essential lab support, focusing on the meticulous handling and maintenance of laboratory glassware. You will be part of the Glasswash team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper delivery of glassware across various lab facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and assist in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Collaborate with team leads on process improvement initiatives.
- Pickup, deliver, and sanitize glassware and plasticware.
- Adhere to established procedures for handling and transporting lab items.
- Operate autoclaves, glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers, and ultrasonic baths.
- Maintain equipment and temperature chart records.
- Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural integrity.
- Monitor and report inventory deficiencies to management.
- Maintain cleanliness in glassware processing areas.
- Follow safety protocols and address operational concerns proactively.
- Complete required training promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field OR associate’s degree with 2+ years of related experience OR High School Diploma with 5+ years of related experience.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Technical problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to understand client needs.
- Previous experience with glass washing, SOP creation, and mentoring.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols and wearing protective equipment.
- Capacity to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and operate office machinery.
Soft Skills:
- Self-motivated, responsible, organized, and communicative.
Additional Information:
- This position requires occasional movement between labs and buildings on site.
- Potential exposure to lab hazards such as biological materials and hazardous chemicals.
- Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous waste may be required.
- Medical clearance and respiratory protection training may be necessary.

Pay: $22.64 - $29.20 per hour
