Job Summary:
As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with their tax planning, compliance, and consulting needs. You will work closely with senior tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting research on tax issues, communicating with clients, and assisting with tax audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: State and Local Sales and Property Tax. Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize their tax liabilities and maximize tax savings opportunities. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for tax-efficient structures and transactions. Perform State and Local Nexus Studies.
- Tax Research: Conduct research on various tax issues, including new tax laws, regulations, and rulings. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and interpret their implications for clients.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and provide tax-related advice. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering high-quality service and proactive tax solutions.
- Audit Support: Assist clients during tax audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing clients as needed. Collaborate with audit teams to ensure timely resolution of audit issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior tax professionals, managers, and partners to deliver integrated tax services. Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting and consulting, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, workpapers, and tax filings. Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and quality standards to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in tax preparation, compliance, or consulting within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work with a focus on client satisfaction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
