Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Data Center Team effort and staff in the Bellevue and Portland offices.
- Support sales efforts in the field by performing start up and commissioning of new
equipment and systems, primarily related to “out of territory” data center business.
- Travel required with possible weekend work when required.
- Assist installing contractors with jobsite visits before start-up and/or commissioning to
make sure installation is per manufacture’s installation instructions and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the product manufacturer regarding any deficiencies or
product warranty items that need to be addressed.
- Generate and issue weekly reports detailing work performed and associated
category (warranty, start-up, commissioning, billable to third party, etc.)
- Work closely with the Data Center Sales Team on scheduling and travel requirements.
- Participate in training with other products that Air Reps offers, i.e., Nortek, Daikin
Applied and ABB as needed to help with the need in the field.
- Get involved in troubleshooting when needed. Also support the warranty needs of
Air Reps in the field.
- When not working on a data center related project, your primary responsibilities will
be to assist the Air Reps Offices with start-up, warranty and repair work on standard
commercial projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of various control systems within the data center and the C&I building.
- Hardware equipment (DDC’s. PLC’s, embedded controls, temperature / humidity / pressure
sensors)
- Software applications (SCADA, Building Management Systems and Communication Drivers)
- Involved in all aspects of controls lifecycle for client engagements including requirements
specifications, hardware selection, software development, software testing, commissioning and
support.
- Ability to apply local control systems to a variety of cooling systems including DX, CW and
evaporative technologies
- Authors technical requirements that can be used by external contractors and internal
manufacturing personnel
- Provides technical advices to consultant engineers for control applications, instrumentation and
industry best practices
- Authors sequence of operation documents.
- Authors end user documentation, such as Users Manuals.
- Support technical onsite personnel with commissioning and implementation of customers desired
control strategy
- Interfaces with clients, subcontractors and consultant engineers to solve issues and problems to
satisfaction of the client
- Works with Sales to provide Controls submittals and other Sales related material.
- Ability to travel for onsite customer support, training and commissioning (up to 75%-100% travel)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering, Controls or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in implementation of Controls Systems
- Minimum 2 years of experience with troubleshooting controls, sensors and field wiring
- Experience with HMI’s (human machine interfaces)
- Working knowledge of networking protocols including Modbus, BACNet, LonTalk and SNMP
- Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills
- Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills
