Marina Village is an exciting new concept that will be a first of its kind in Fort Lauderdale. As a dockhand you are the face of Marina Village. Your main objective is to assist all vessels with securing their lines to the dock and also assisting their departure. Greet each and every vessel that approaches the dock. Friendliness and professionalism are expected at all times. Luxury guest service is our goal here. We aim to provide our guests with the best service and the friendliest experience in the industry.
The qualifications needed to become a dock hand include a high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of marina operations, boat handling and tying basic anchoring knots. It is also vital that you have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, walk for the majority of your shift, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. It’s also beneficial to be a proficient swimmer, as you work around water.
