Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The Grants Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing funding to support existing and planned program activities.
The Manager will oversee relationships with foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors.
The Manager will be responsible for writing grant proposals and reports, as well as donor briefings.
In carrying out the duties, the Manager will work closely with leadership team, and report directly to the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education level: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree (preferred)
3+ years of fundraising experience required including; grant writing, grants administration and management, development administration, development strategy, and prospect research.
Preferred Skills
· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work with a diverse range of individuals – including program staff, families, students, donors, board members, staff, corporate and foundation, other non-profit representatives.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write in clear concise manner, must have good editing skills. Must be able to write clear, structured, and persuasive proposals.
· Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize and be adaptable to changing circumstances.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as donor supported software (such as Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge. Etc.)
· Have an understanding and working knowledge of philanthropy within the Inland Empire and the greater Los Angeles area.
