Role Overview: As a Registered Nurse at our company, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients. You will educate patients and their families on comfort measures and provide direct nursing care with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional who is compassionate, cool-tempered, and able to follow health and safety guidelines consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care:
- Provide hands-on care in hospice settings, ensuring the comfort and dignity of patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
Collaboration and Care Planning:
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on end-of-life care options and comfort measures.
Medication and Treatment Administration:
- Accurately adjust and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Facility Hygiene and Safety:
- Ensure facilities are clean and safe by decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and preparing beds.
Supervision and Training:
- Oversee and provide training for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and nursing assistants.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Patient and Family Support:
- Create a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families, providing emotional support during difficult times.
Travel Requirements:
- Visit patients in various locations, including their homes, personal care homes, or nursing facilities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license.
- Proven experience in patient care, particularly in hospice or palliative care settings.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult times.
- Commitment to following health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Team player with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to drive to different locations for patient visits.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with medical records management.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
