Position Summary
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong administrative leadership, sport knowledge, player development, sportsmanship, integrity, and character development. SCS coaches are expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing the day-to-day duties of the role and to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students, and families to develop and maintain a school that is distinctively Christian, academically excellent, and globally minded.
This position will coach the Junior Varsity Cheerleaders and assist with Middle School Cheerleaders for the 2024-2025 school year.
Educational & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University preferred

1 or more years of coaching experience

Essential Job Responsibilities

Serve as a key member of the athletic department coaching staff

Leads the JV cheer program under the guidance of the high school cheerleading coach; assists with middle school cheer

Demonstrates the ability to inspire learning and cultivate positive relationships with students

Provides appropriate athletic instruction and assessment while incorporating a biblical worldview

Creates an environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and supports high expectations for athletic performance

Maintains clear, open, professional communication with team members, parents, and other school employees

Exhibits a willingness to participate in the school community
Work Environment
The work environment at Southwest Christian School is consistent with a typical school setting. The employee works indoors and outdoors in unpredictable temperatures to monitor student athletic practices and games. The noise level in the environment is usually low to moderate but may become loud occasionally. The employee is frequently required to interact with others within the school community, including parents and other caregivers.
