Receiving Lead Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for receiving all inbound product, inbound transfers, inbound shipments from our manufacturers, vendors, and customer returns. The Receiving Supervisor will work with the Dispatcher to ensure that the daily receiving schedule is accurate, updated, and feasible to complete is a days’ time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required by management.
- Morning meetings with the receiving team to discuss the work volume and other projects that need to be completed throughout the day
o This time can also be used to train, educate, or correct issues from prior day
- Oversees the finalization of all paperwork for the receiving of purchase orders
o Reports habitual issues directly with the purchasing agent
- Oversees the finalization of all paperwork of inbound transfers
o Reports/Emails discrepancies and other transfer issues back to the shipping warehouse
- Coordinates the daily receiving schedule with the dispatcher
o Adjusts for days with employees on PTO or adjustments to allow for more time to deal with difficult receivers or space issues
- Coordinates daily customer returns with the Dispatcher and Warehouse Manager
o Ensuring that returns do not back up but also that returns do not become over whelming during the busy season for driver hours
- Shares 50% of the responsibility in keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and on track to keep the operation moving fluidly
- Responsible for training all direct reports to be proficient in their receiving position
o Additional training may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager as they see necessary
- Responsible for redirecting direct reports when the work is completed or during slower months of the year
o This includes during the busy season at the end of the day, ensuring all housekeeping gets completed and/or helping others complete their work
o This includes during the slower season, ensuring that direct reports that do not have receiving to do for that day are assigned to projects that create efficiencies
- Responsible for holding each person of the receiving team accountable for their daily workload and actions
o Firing and hiring decisions are made in conjunction with the warehouse manager

Education and/or Experience: Highschool diploma or GED. Previous distribution warehousing experience preferred, must possess the skills required to work in a fast-paced environment where a high level of pressure and stress due to constant changes may be involved.
Special Requirements: Forklift experience required; may need to be trained in the handling of hazardous materials. Must wear company provided uniform and protective footwear. Cannot wear earrings, long chains, or other jewelry that may cause injury during the normal course of performing this job.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is performed while sitting at a desk using a computer and/or telephone 90% of the time. Will assist warehouse personnel from time to time by moving product and/or entering the warehouse to locate inventory, which will require lifting up to 75 pounds.
