Job Description:
We are one of the top management companies as well as one of the most reputable around and we are in search of a detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced Community Manager for our apartment complex in Grand Rapids, MI.
The Community Manager’s role is to manage and coordinate people, activities, and available resources in order to accomplish community objectives as established by the company. You will be in charge of and make sure the quality of work of the leasing and maintenance staff meet company standards. The Community Manager will also aid in the training, developing, and recruiting, of property associates/team.
Required Skills:
- Need to make sure that A/P invoices are submitted to the corporate office for payment, handle petty cash and all funds
- Compose or implement resident retention programs (i.e., resident functions, special promotions, monthly newsletters, etc.)
- Need to adhere to all of the local, federal, and state agency regulations
- Maintain accurate records of all community transactions and submit on timely basis (i.e., rent rolls, delinquency reports, move-in/move-outs, etc.)
- Walk and inspect the community on a regular basis; check on vacant apartments.
- Make certain that all rents and late fees/check charges are collected, posted and deposited in a timely manner
- Confirm that current resident files are properly maintained and updated in company software system
- Arrange each property so that it is rented to fullest capacity, while keeping operating costs at a minimum
- Prepare and submit purchase orders as needed

- Strong knowledge with all federal, state, local fair housing and landlord/tenant laws
