Position: Math and Reading Support Instructor / Tutor
Hours: Part-time, roughly 5 to 15 hours a week mostly after school hours
Compensation: $24-30/hr. depending on qualifications and experience

About La Jolla Learning:
La Jolla Learning is a private 1:1 educational organization that provides instruction at several offices in the San Diego area, as well as virtually. We are currently hiring instructors for our offices in La Jolla and Carmel Valley. We are looking for availability on Monday-Fridays as well as Saturday.
Our services include individualized tutoring, test preparation, and educational therapy for K-12, college students, and adult learners. We carefully select and train talented, passionate, caring educators to help our students maximize their potential for academic success.
Job Description:
We are looking for fun, engaging, and experienced educators to help our students reach their fullest potential in their education! Our Math and Reading Instructors provide specialized academic support to build upon students’ strengths and bolster their weaknesses. We work with instructors’ specific competencies to match them with students and develop learning plans, and we also provide training in our programs, including Executive Functioning and Test Prep.
Our ideal candidate is:
- able to instruct math up to middle/high school level
- able to provide instruction in reading, writing, and vocabulary
- open to being trained in our programs, particularly our test prep and executive functioning programs
Our current program needs at our Carmel Valley and La Jolla offices are as follows:-Test Prep (ISEE)-Academic Coaching (for elementary, middle, and high school students)-Executive Functioning
Preferred Competencies:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field
- Experience working with students of different ages/abilities
- Minimum of 1 year of tutoring experience with preference for middle/high school math, reading, writing, and science
- Honesty and integrity to earn and maintain trusting relationships and uphold professional ethics
- Confidence and ability to inspire others with your love of learning
- Ability to build rapport with children and effectively collaborate with others
- Ability to maintain a consistent schedule
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
