The Role:
We are looking for a Development Associate to join our revolutionary model. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a growing organization and assist with fundraising and resource development. The Development Associate is a dynamic role for a person who can effectively and enthusiastically research, outreach, and manage stakeholder relationships. This individual will maximize the organization’s development by doing ongoing research, and outreach to identify individual donors, foundations, local businesses, local elected officials, and corporations that could support our mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
New donor research and acquisition support. Research and create a list of prospective donors/supporters: foundations, corporations, individuals, local elected officials, local businesses.
- 25% of time- Outreach: Communicating to prospective donors/supporters by creating letters,decks, emails requesting support, and facilitating phone calls and in-person meetings to also solicit support. Plan and execute events to showcase TLNYC social impact and garner more support for our programming.
- 25% of time- Managing stakeholder relationships: Maintaining accurate donor databases, implementing a system of consistent communication with donation letters, sponsorships, and providing letters and reports to update stakeholders on organization’s work.
- 25% of time- Interact with following internal stakeholders: To help achieve the organization’s development goals and help to produce reports to external stakeholders

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time- 20-25 hours a week
- Typical work schedule would be 9am-2pm four days a week (one day would be hybrid, the other days would be in person)
- Some weekends
- Travel:
- Must be able to travel locally up to 50% of the time
Qualifications:
- Must have an undergraduate, graduate degree, or still currently in college
- Demonstrated interest in youth development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn and a growth mindset
- Well-developed emotional intelligence and moral character
- Ability to build strong relationships with all constituents, thoughtfully navigate challenging situations, and get excellent results from others
- Exceptionally high standards for quality of work and a reflex to improve at every turn
