Description:
Basic Scope/Purpose: Performs inspection of strip tor loose piece terminals and connectors to ensure conformance to blueprint and quality specifications utilizing visual and various inspection instrument procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs microscope inspection of reeled terminals to examine for visual defects such as deformations, chip marks, tool marks, misfeeds, burrs, fractures, dimple appearance, flaking of plating, discoloration of plating and similar characteristics.

Performs mechanical inspection of reeled or loose piece terminals following established inspection procedures and prescribed inspection instruments such as comparator, micrometer, functional gages, (sheer force gages, insertion-extraction gages etc.) special gages, various plug gages, go-no go gages, fracture testers, and other related instruments to ensure conformance to blueprint and product quality specifications.

Utilizes various inspection equipment to inspect such factors as barrel width, height, length, dimple, bow, straightness, symmetry, true position, and other related factors.

Completes first piece inspection of samples submitted by production associates.

Maintains daily records of terminal/product inspections along with preparing necessary forms and inspection reports.

Uses OGP inspection equipment to perform semi-automated product inspections.

Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements/Preferences:

Must be able to read blueprints and have knowledge of geometric tolerancing.

High school diploma or GED required.

Must have knowledge and understanding of basic math along with shop math.

Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerancing.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and inspection equipment.

Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
