Job Summary: Broomfield Montessori Preschool is opening its doors in August and is seeking dedicated and experienced individuals for multiple positions. Ideal candidates will have Montessori certification (AMI or AMS) from a fully in person training program, or be willing to train under a certified Montessori Guide. We are looking for professionals who are committed to supporting the values of Montessori education and working with children with respect and intention.
Qualifications for All Positions:
Early Child Teacher Qualified in the State of Colorado
Montessori certification (AMI or AMS) is required for Lead position. Montessori certificate or experience preferred for assistant positions and a willingness to train.
At least 2 years of experience teaching young children.
High School Diploma Required. BA or BS degree preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be able to bend, sit on the floor and stand repeatedly throughout the day, run across a playground and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to carry the weight of a child in an emergency.
Strong understanding and appreciation of Montessori philosophy, principles, and methods.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Bilingual a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
Commitment to education as a means for human development.
Ability to create and sustain a nurturing and stimulating environment.
Flexibility to support your coworkers and the school’s needs as a whole.
CPR/ First Aid and Standard Precautions Certification (or willingness to become certified)
Understanding of and ability to maintain and adhere to Early Childhood licensing requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with children towards realizing their unique potential.
Ensure quality Montessori lessons are given in accordance with AMI or AMS training.
Establish and maintain a prepared Montessori environment.
Foster a community based on freedom with responsibility.
Ensure respect and safety for every child within the community.
Model professional integrity and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children in your care.
Monitor and support each child’s development and milestones
Conduct regular observations of children.
Communicate regularly with children’s families regarding their progress and challenges.
Establish and maintain lesson-planning and record-keeping systems.
Maintain accurate records and adhere to all regulatory and licensing requirements.
Lead teachers train assistant teacher in Montessori philosophy and the role and duties of the assistant teacher in the classroom as they work together
Speak to children in a respectful tone in line with the Montessori philosophy
