CLASSIFICATION: HEALTH AND SAFETY
TITLE: ELEMENTARY SECURITY GUARD
CALENDAR: ELEMENTARY SECURITY GUARD FULLTIME
SALARY: GRADE 7
Effective July 1, 2006, a post-offer physical and drug screening test is required for this position
Job Goal:
Assist in a supervisor capacity providing for security and protection of students, staff and property and to enhance campus safety with security at the point of entry.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
-
Training or background knowledge in security procedures and practices
-
Excellent health and physical condition; ability to run if necessary
-
Possess an Arizona Driver’s License and have a clean driving record
-
Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card
-
Possess good human relations skills
-
Excellent written and communication skills
Core Job Functions:
-
Learns names of individual students, faculty and staff in order to assist with campus control
-
Confronts or keeps a visual on any unauthorized persons for questioning; routes or detains them; calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan

Reports any unusual conditions or persons on or near school grounds
-
Greets, meets and documents all individuals (parents, students, visitors, etc) who enter/exit campus – gatekeeper of school visitor management system

Maintain accurate daily records

Verifies individuals coming on campus and notifies front office personnel

Performs related duties as requested
-
Performs all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed

Works collaboratively with all staff to assure safety needs of campus
