FIELD SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Responds to customer inquiries and recommends solutions to meet customer needs. Achieves maximum sales profitability and growth by effectively selling the company's services. Significant interface with key customers and suppliers to ensure understanding of and conformance to requirements. Builds strong relationships leading to value added opportunities. Uunderstanding and responding to customer needs is a critical success factor.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
- Responds to major customer inquiries, in a timely manner for price and delivery with written quotations. Applies price negotiation strategies when required. Manage and grow house accounts.
- Enters orders and follows-up to verify material accuracy and that delivery schedule meets customer deadline.
- Listens to and analyzes customer needs. Provides management oral and written reports on the customer needs, problems, interests, market situation and other market intelligence. Recommends solutions and asks for approval to proceed. Provides outstanding levels of service and build strong relationships with customers.
- Makes telephone calls, site visits, to customers and potential customers. Learns to identify additional opportunities within an account and conveys that market intelligence to sales team.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems. Handles customer invoice disputes and deductions to completion. Escalates issues to management as needed.
- Performs other duties and special assignments as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE JOB:
EXPERIENCE
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge:
- Industry and applications knowledge for assigned customers.
- Indepth and working knowledge of Company business model, services, processes and infra-structure, along with competition in the industry.
Skills:
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn order entry / customer service applications.
- Ability to price products and services within established parameters.
- Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate and resolve customer issues.
- Self-driven, outgoing individual with knowledge and understanding of the Oil and Gas industry and the upstream and industrial services/disposal waste environment.
- Ability to resolve problems, pay close attention to details and plan, organize and manage time.
- Ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Experience:
Typically two - four years sales experience with similar products in a similar environment, preferably in the industrial services sector of the Oil and Gas Industry. Oilfield waste disposal sales experience a significant plus. Experience working with to provide customer with specifics to meet service, price and delivery specifications while maximizing profitability for the Company.
