The primary purpose of this role is to provide direct consultative services to NC State employees regarding their individual career development. As a Career Development Specialist, you will coach employees on aligning their interests and talents, identifying career development opportunities, and establishing career goals. Additionally, you will design and distribute educational materials to support employees in their career development activities. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for HR Strategy and collaborates closely with the Employee Career Development (ECD) Program Coordinator.
Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in empowering employees to explore their career aspirations, thereby enhancing overall employee satisfaction and retention. By providing one-on-one consultations, group workshops, and career assessments, you will help employees identify their strengths and areas for growth, guiding them towards fulfilling career paths within the university and beyond. Your efforts will contribute to creating a supportive and dynamic work environment, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
As a Career Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in career counseling and human resources. You will gain valuable experience in designing and delivering educational programs, evaluating program effectiveness, and developing strategies to meet client needs.
