Position: Omeda is seeking a Mid-level Snowflake Database Adminstrator to join our team. The role will involve working with cross-functional teams to optimize and troubleshoot database issues, as well as implementing backup and recovery strategies. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our database systems, ensuring that they meet the current and future needs of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake environments.
- Monitoring the health and performance of databases and servers, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing queries and processes for improved efficiency.
- Implement and maintain security best practices within the on premise and cloud environments, including user access control, data encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization within the Snowflake environment, such as optimizing resource utilization, implementing auto-scaling policies, and leveraging cost-effective storage options.
- Document configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
- Support after-hours and/or weekend key deployments or on-call rotation.
Job Requirements:
- BS/BA in computer science or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and administering Snowflake environments with in-depth knowledge of role-based access control, backup and disaster recovery using Snowflake Time Travel and on-premise to cloud replication.
- Strong understanding of relational database fundamentals with experience performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience working with SSIS and other ETL tools.
