Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of the residents’ rooms, bathrooms and common areas of the building. This allows for a safe, sanitary and visually pleasing place to reside. The Housekeeper reports to the Administrator.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clean Residents Rooms:
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, clean baseboards, dust tabletops, dust décor, clean window ledges, pick up and throw away trash, sanitize handles, remotes and switches, empty trash containers and place extra bags in bin.
- Clean Resident Bathrooms:
- Clean toilets, clean sink, mirrors and showers. Sweep, mop floors. Empty trash and place extra bags in bin. Refill soap dispenser. Ensure 2 extra rolls of toilet paper is available.
Replace towels with 2 full-body towels, 3 hand towels and 3 wash cloths.
- Clean Common Areas:
- Vacuum stairs, living room and sunroom rugs. Dust furniture and décor. Clean all entry doors including glass.
- Clean common area bathrooms, including employee bathroom:
- Clean toilets, clean sink, mirrors and showers. Sweep, mop floors. Empty trash and place extra bags in bin. Refill soap dispenser and hand sanitizer. Refill wipes. Ensure 2 extra rolls of toilet paper are available. Ensure paper towels are available.
- Immediately report any unsafe situation regarding a resident or condition of equipment to the On-Call Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned for the operation of the company or resident need and safety.
Required Experience, Education, & Skills:
- To be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb stairs, reach & grasp
- Speak and communicate clearly
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
Physical Requirements:
Housekeepers will routinely be required to stoop, carry, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, grip, reach, push, and pull. Housekeepers will also occasionally be required to lift overhead, waist high or floor level. The maximum lift will not be over fifty (50) pounds. Housekeepers will also be required to use fine motor and manual dexterity skills in writing and grasping.
