This position is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Also, provides a safe, sanitary environment for the residents and staff of Horizons.
Minimum Training and Experience:
High School Diploma and equivalent of one (1) year experience in a maintenance position, preferably in a health care or residential setting. Must hold a current, valid North Carolina Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinates with respective supervisors, stores medical, housekeeping and kitchen supplies for Atrium, Respite, Arches, and Administration in a proper and safe manner

Under the guidance of the Director of Environmental Services performs general maintenance of all buildings including painting, plumbing, lighting, repairs, cleaning of grounds, cleaning of facilities, etc..

Mops and buffs floors weekly as scheduled.

Responds to emergency maintenance needs as able or identifies and secures someone able to resolve the issue (i.e. Director of Environmental Services, other staff; call professional repair person.)

Cleans vans monthly. Checks vans weekly (i.e. oil, tires. etc.)

Unloads vehicles delivering supplies.

Ensures trash is picked-up on campus and is properly disposed of.

Performs other duties as necessary
Physical Requirements
-
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move seventy-five (75) pounds.

Full range of motion (above the head, to the side, front and back) is required with hands, arms and shoulders.

Should be able to operate under the following outside: heat, cold, wind, grass/weeds, sun, etc.

Should be able to safely handle: various cleaning supplies, blood/air borne pathogens and other potentially dangerous materials.

Must be able to go up and down stairs.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, and push.
