Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the RN provides direct patient care for surgical/procedural patients. Plans and implements individualized care using the nursing process. Coordinates all perioperative care in patient-focused manner.
Essential Functions

Ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and correct

Consults and coordinates with health care team members to plan and implement intra-operative nursing care

Conducts pre - and post-operative education

Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team

Monitors patients' vital signs

Prepares, administers and records medications
-
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
-
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format

Assists in positioning and transport of patient

Provides accurate care and handling of specimens

Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis

Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery
-
Select and manage supplies, instruments and equipment used for surgery
-
Performs other position-related duties during the surgical procedure
Education
The following formal education is required and/or preferred for the job.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Below is the list of required and/or preferred certificates, license and registrations for the job.
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- BLS and ACLS certification

Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR)
Experience & Skills
Below is the list of required and/or preferred experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.
- One (1) to three (3) years’ progressive perioperative experience preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Travel: RNs will need to cover multiple locations throughout the valley and possibly our Tucson and Prescott locations as well
Work Environment
