Essential Functions
Pharmacy Technician 2 is accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. These activities include but are not limited to: unit dose medications and IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, floor stock pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, and other defined systems.
Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics.
Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications.
Timely delivery and retrieval of patient medications.
Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock which includes automated dispensing cabinets.
Assist the Pharmacist with medication/patient care related issues. Required For All Jobs
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications
Qualifications Education
High School Equivalent / GED Required and
Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program Required Work Experience
Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. Required
Good communication skills are essential. Required
Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems, TPN compounders, automated dispensing cabinets, calculators, and facsimile machines are. Preferred Licenses and Certifications
