Marketing Communication Specialist
Overview
The Pittsburgh Conference, a non-profit organization located in Monroeville, PA, produces Pittcon, a world renown conference and exposition for laboratory science. We are searching for an enthusiastic Marketing Communication Specialist with three to five years marketing experience to help us deliver a wide range of marketing and publicity activities. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and track marketing programs such as email, social media, digital campaigns, and events
- Effectively collaborate with other internal departments and volunteers to achieve marketing goals
- Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of campaigns
- Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
- Assist in developing and creating marketing materials, such as informational collateral, ensuring brand guidelines are met
- Write, proofread, and edit creative content across different mediums including but not limited to website, social media, articles, and promotional material
- Work with external agencies, publishers and vendors to execute marketing plan
- Assist with promotional activities
- Set up and manage Press Room during Conference Week
- Perform various publicity functions including but not limited to building media relations, generating press releases, researching and implementing publicity opportunities and campaigns to expand brand awareness

Experience:
Education/Requirements/Skills
- BS degree in marketing
- Two to five years marketing experience
- Highly creative with experienced in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Adobe Suite a plus, but not required)
- Ability to work and meet deadlines with little supervision
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Conference and trade show experience a plus but not required
- PR experience a plus
Salary range: $50 – $60K depending on experience
Positioning:
- Requires sitting, some standing, some walking
- Requires occasional moving of objects up to 25 pounds
Interaction:
- Requires work with others in a group or team
- Requires work with external entities and the public
