The Health Clinic provides free non-emergency, ambulatory medical services and provides medical guidance and health education for eligible students, staff, and faculty. The Clinic shall provide onsite assessment and treatment of medical/physical illnesses, ailments, and/or injuries, in accordance with medical guidelines and standards within the scope of their positions and the services available at the University. Upon entry to the Health Clinic patients’ intake, including vital signs and
health history, will be performed by the LPN/receptionist. Patients deemed by the attending medical professional to need emergency intervention or ongoing care due to a major medical condition, will be referred to their personal primary care physician or a local hospital.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will be able to assist and execute the same objectives as the LPN listed under Licensed Practical Nurse/Receptionist. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant manages and oversees Health Clinic operations daily. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will perform a physical examination and assessment.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant provides medical services for acute and some chronic conditions, to include monitoring and case management and/or referral services as needed. Provider will implement the patent’s outcomes-based plan of care. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will follow medication prescription management. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will ensure timely, accurate and clinically appropriate documentation to meet standards of care. Provides over the counter medication to students upon request. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will assist with orders, storing, managing and keeping inventory of Health Clinic Resources; ensures effective stewardship of all inventories and supplies to minimize waste.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant ensures maintenance of a clean, sanitized and sterilized clinical environment.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will stay up to date with guidance from Total Wellness Medical Director critical health-related matters that could impact the University community.
Clinic will remain open while Student are on campus
Clinic hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm Mon-Fri Lunch will be on rotation with LPN. Clinic remains open as long as Student are on campus for school purposes. Yearly schedule follows the University of Langston students yearly school schedule.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant will be responsible for creation a wellness environment on Campus.
