This position is specific to the piano and involves teaching students of all ages, beginning to advanced piano. This position would be a great fit for persons with the following qualifications:
-Bachelors Degree minimum
-a person who is passionate about music, and desires to see the benefits that the fine arts brings to the lives of those touched by such gifts
-a person who believes in music and has an infectious excitement for the fine arts to which point they can effectively nurture students of all ages/levels
-a person who is comfortable teaching private lessons and/or classes
-a person who remembers the experience of studying an instrument as a young child and can create an engaging, relatable, age appropriate experience
-a person who can teach creatively, out of the box, while implementing ideas and incentives that aid in student retention
-a person who can be adaptive in their approach and customize a lesson plan to the individual needs of a student
-a person who can effectively prepare students for performances
-a person who has experience or the emotional quotient necessary to communicate effectively to parents of music students
-a person who is highly organized, pays attention to detail, possesses strong written communication skills, has a strong sense of urgency, and, is a progressive, creative thinker, etc.
-a person who can assign clear, routine, and concise expectations for home practice
-a person with energy to inspire, build, and motivate students of all ages

EXCELLENT people skills, strong leadership skills, confident, very organized, outgoing, ability to be firm, but gentle, with a mentoring, nurturing, professional, commanding presence.
Responsibilities:
Teaching, developing, motivating, inspiring music students to reach their fullest potential. To use age appropriate curriculums that will focus on NSSOTA's six core aspects of development:
Sight reading - teaching the student how to read music confidently
Rhythm - teaching the student how to feel, count, and understand rhythm in music
Technique - teaching the student how to “touch” their instrument in such a way that produces quality music. We want our students to play with musicianship and artistry even at a young age.
Music Theory - teaching the student how and why music works. Learning about music beyond just the piano.
Performance - teaching the student how to prepare, polish, and perform music. We encourage, motivate, inspire our students to share their music with the world!
Ear Training - Teaching the student how to develop the ability to play without music and use their “ear” and theory knowledge to guide them in their playing
