Wound Care Nurse
Responsibilities and duties:
- Provide excellent nursing care to all patients requiring wound care.
- Initiate nursing care procedures in wound management
- Provide care to all applicable patients that will efficiently and optimally address all wound care needs of the customer, including all necessary and appropriate documentation
- Round on all applicable patients weekly in conjunction with ARNP/MD
- Assess wounds, create and implement treatment plans under the supervision of ARNP/MD
- Assist and evaluate patients with acute and chronic wounds and injuries
- Monitor wound infections and notify appropriate personnel accordingly.
- Complete wound care assessment, treatment and documentation on all assigned patients on wound care log weekly and as necessary.
- Possess the skills and knowledge to determine necessity for surgical debridement of wounds.
- Provide staff education regarding proper wound care assessment, infection control and interventions for prevention and treatment of wounds.
- Provide the appropriate audits and documentation deemed necessary for accreditation and state regulations.
- Update care plans accordingly for each patient assigned per wound log weekly and as necessary.
