TITLE
Foundation for Senior Care - Caregiver
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Caregiver position at the Foundation for Senior Care assists the Adult Day Center (ADC) Administrator in implementing daily caregiving and activities tailored for older adults with dementia and memory challenges. As an active team member of the ADC, the Caregiver supports participants by helping with physical and mental activities, providing companionship, and assisting with daily living needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with the social, recreational, and daily activities of the Adult Day Center
· Prepare and setup supplies for daily activities
· Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients
· Assist with preparing meals and daily snacks for clients
· Assist clients with bathroom and hygiene needs
· Assist with lifting and moving clients
· Report concerns regarding client care or health to ADC Administrator
· All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· A sincere desire to work with older adults who may be frail, moderately handicapped, slightly confused, or have incapacitating chronic conditions
· Working knowledge of the physical, social, and mental health needs of older adults
· Able to demonstrate activities in an engaging, enthusiastic and encouraging manner
· Able to supervise, direct, and motivate clients
· Able to lift and move clients, including wheelchair and other transfer tasks
· Able to interact with family members, caregivers, potential clients and families, other agencies, and Foundation staff in a positive, courteous, and professional manner
· Working familiarity with HIPPA policy and compliance requirements

EFFECTIVENESS: The effectiveness of this position is measured by the quality of ADC services provided to the clients, longevity of enrollment of clients, annual ADC client satisfaction surveys, compliance reviews, supervisor feedback, the fit with agency culture expectations, and the extent to which organizational and individual goals are achieved.
SUPERVISOR: Foundation for Senior Care ADC Administrator
WORK HOURS: This is a part-time position requiring 24 hours per week. Core operating hours are 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday.
SALARY RANGE: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, non-exempt
