Basic Function:
This position exists to keep Dayton History properties, buildings and grounds clean, safe and in good repair at all times for guests and employees.
General Responsibilities:

General grounds-keeping.
-
General building maintenance.
-
Trash pickup and removal.

Un-arm and re-arm security alarms in Carillon Historical Park buildings at beginning and end of each day.
Position Responsibilities:
-
Mow, trim, blow walks, landscape, and remove leaves (spring / summer / fall).

Remove snow, salt walks and maintain safe winter grounds conditions.

Prep, paint, repair buildings and perform general maintenance on all Dayton History sites.

Move heavy pieces and relocate artifacts and collection pieces.

Maintain equipment in good working condition: lawn and landscape equipment, vehicles and carousel.
Line of Communication and Accountability:
This position reports to the Facilities Director.
Qualification Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
One to three years’ relevant experience preferred, but not required
-
Knowledge of and ability to use specific equipment: lawn mowing/blowing equipment, plowing tractors, and general building maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements of the Job:

Ability to stay active throughout the day.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
-
Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds.
