Role and Responsibilities
Test Technicians provide preventative maintenance, test services and related electrical services in industrial and utility environments.
Test Technicians are responsible to Inspect: housings, grounding, bushings, tank, oil levels, oil filled bushings, cooling fans, oil pumps, vibrations, air movement, noise levels, anchors, positioning, radiator fins, ground resistors, tap change settings, loads, asset labeling, name plates, ARC and PCB labels, locking and security,
Record: temperatures, winding and oil temperatures, gauges, pressure/vacuum readings, nitrogen level addition, pressure relief, Load Tap changer.
Perform: cleaning, circuit breaker operations, resistance testing, insulation testing poles, phase to phase, phase to ground, test data compliance and verification, contact pole/resistance test, voltage pick-up tests, trip-close-trip free-anti pump functions, vacuum bottle integrity, as found-as left, arresters, serialization, versions-revision control, light emitting functions-displays, analog inputs, relay meter, active discrete inputs, output contacts, and recording and reporting of all findings.
Medium to High Voltage Equipment: switchgear, motor control centers, generators, circuit breakers, protective relays, ground fault systems, VFD, ATS, and transformers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Testing Technicians are preferred to have 5 years experience (minimum) in electrical field services and testing.
Preferred Certifications
NETA Level 3, DOBLE or MEGGER Training, Infrared Thermography
Additional Notes Mining MSHA, Phosphate and OSHA 30 Certifications are preferred and required work can be required after hours or weekends.
Testing Technicians are expected to travel to Customer sites and deliver a high level of customer service and support. Testing Technicians should have a clean driving record and a clean background check.
