We are hiring an experienced Assistant Bakery Production Manager to join our team. This is a direct-placement position.
The primary focus of this role will be to assist the Head Baker with the daily production responsibilities to ensure the timely and accurate formulation of products that meet the production schedule and company requirements.
This position will assist the Head Baker with supervising daily production, mixing, and oven operations to ensure product quality consistent with company services and cost objectives.
The selected candidate must have working experience in a high-volume bakery and operating knowledge of related bakery equipment, ingredients, formulations, and quality control procedures. The candidate must also be able to meet timelines, work in an organized manner, be people-oriented and creative, and lead a team of workers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for ensuring employees properly perform their duties that affect food safety and the quality of products produced at the facility. In addition, but not limited to:
- Operates all Bakery equipment as required, following the manufacturing operating procedures and Standards.
- Perform all work following company standards and established safety procedures.
- Ensure all employees, visitors, etc., follow the company’s accident prevention rules.
- Isolate any product that does not meet the established quality standards or may cause a food safety hazard if eaten. Notify the quality assurance department of any such problem and record it on an appropriate document.
- Ensure employees follow GMPs and keep their area clean at all times.
- Monitor and report immediately any Food Safety or foreign material issues affecting the line to the Quality Assurance Officer.
- Minimize waste and maximize production efficiency.
- Train and direct laborers in their various jobs in a way that will promote safety, quality, and productivity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: This position requires a person experienced and/or ability in the following:
- Knowledge of the high-volume bakery processes, procedures, and machinery. Must have a complete understanding of the function and operation of Bakery operations.
- Knowledge of the Bakery ingredients, formulations, and recipes.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Time Management Skills and Self-Motivation.
- High School Education or Equivalency Required
- Professional appearance and presentation are required.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and Allergen Control Program.
Job Type—Full-time: Work will include early morning and weekend schedules to facilitate production requirements. They are constantly exposed to a quiet and/or noisy work environment.
Salary: 65K+
