Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated VeterinaryTechnician/Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animals and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be team oriented, reliable and likes to work with clients as much as their pets. Full Time/Part Time applicants will be considered. Our hours are Monday through Friday 7AM to 5PM. This position does require a rotation on the weekend and holiday kennel duty.
Some of the duties you will be responsible for include (but not limited to):
Exam room - gathering patient history, obtaining and recording patient vitals, obtaining various lab samples , giving appropriate injections as directed and client education.
Surgeries - prepping (including placing IV catheters), monitoring (before, during and after), assisting as needed, complete instrument sterilization as required.
Lab work - able to obtain samples (blood, urine, feces, skin and ear), run in-house lab equipment, prepare Antech samples and forms, read fecal and urine samples as well as prep cytology slides.
Dentals - take digital dental radiographs, perform dental prophys, complete dental charts, alert veterinarian regarding periodontal pockets and/or possible extractions needed.
Radiography - taking and developing all digital radiographs.
Animal Care - taking complete care of all animals in hospital in addition to the hospitalized patients we have boarding patients as well as day care patients.
Invoicing - placing all charges for procedures and production in the computer for patients (outpatient and inpatient).
General Cleaning - Keeping up with the cleanliness of the animal hospital both inside and outside.
Assisting at the receptionist desk when needed.
