This position is responsible for the direct delivery of services to people living in their own homes or apartments and to assist the persons integration into the community and promote the growth, well-being and autonomy of people served.
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
- The primary responsibility is to promote the growth, well-being of individuals served.
- Provide a warm, sensitive, caring environment through positive interaction and role modeling (maintains an upbeat and positive attitude towards individuals, peers, and supervisor; shows genuine interest in people, supporting individuals on day to day activities, etc.; allow individuals to make choices; serves as a role model, provides an attitude that promotes team work).
- Promote social relationships: support individuals in forming and maintaining a natural support system, etc.
- Transport individuals to social/personal activities and appointments.
- Provide assistance and training with meeting personal goals of the individuals (assisting with medications, laundry, personal hygiene, maintaining a sanitary and clean living environment, money management , grocery shopping/meal prep).
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Minimum high school diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Current ND driver’s license in good standing required.
PHYSICAL
- Assistance with transferring and lifting up to 50 pounds.
