When it comes to keeping our vehicles on the roads, nobody has the Know How like NAPA. For more than 85 years, the National Automotive Parts Association has been empowering the industry with quality parts and supplies.
Today, there are more than 6,000 NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores. About 1,000 of them are corporate owned, and Genuine Parts Company is the employer for these locations. However, there are about 5,000 independently owned and operated NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores where individual store owners are the employer. This position is through an Locally owned and operated store that operates 7locations in Alaska.
The Assistant Manager's primary function is to provide prompt and courteous service to retail, wholesale, and internal customers over the phone, in the store, or in the dealer's shop. This person must be able to look up parts in the NAPA Parts catalogs or in TAMS. An Assistant Manager must process orders for customers with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy. He/She will be required to assist and advise customers in determining how best to meet their needs, often dealing with questions and problems of a highly technical nature. There for, it is essential to have good business judgement, a thorough understanding of automotive systems, and excellent selling skills. The Assistant Manager must also exhibit a thorough knowledge of NAPA products, performance standards, warranties, sales programs, and operating policies. This person will have direct contact with customers, requiring neatness in personal appearance. The ability to establish and maintain good relations with fellow employees and customers in a professional manner is a must. The Assistant Manager also serves as a resource for advice to other store employees. The Assistant Manager must effectively manage the store in Store Manager's absence. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for knowing opening and closing procedures of the store, and all other duties assigned by the Store Manager. Know and possess skills required by Store Manager including inventory control and basic asset management.
