We are seeking a highly skilled individual to step into a transformative leadership role to drive the company's Automation Transformation, setting strategic and breakthrough ideal state and future state, effectively partnering externally to deliver efficient, holistic automation solutions with speed and scale that generate best value for the business.
The Lead Automation Engineer will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods and controls in a manner consistent with ASC’s Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives.
This position will also provide leadership in the implementation and support of plant and distribution center automation.
How You Will Help:
- Automation leadership and direction: Create and lead the development of a comprehensive automation roadmap for the organization. Ensure alignment with the company's short and long-term objectives and goals.
- Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing automation-related projects and initiatives; including ensuring all automation is consistently process engineered, documented, and sustained.
- Technology Integration: evaluate, select, and integrate advanced automation technologies, robotics, cloud-based equipment and process performance tools, and AI into the company's plant and distribution center operations, across a network of 20 locations.
- Process Optimization: identify processes that can be automated to enhance cost savings, productivity, and quality. Implement automation solutions to drive productivity and efficiency.
- Project Management: Perform all aspects of project management and design engineering for capital and expense projects.
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to understand business, markets, and customers need to translate into automation strategy.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancement of automation-related systems (PLC/HMI/VFD/Instrumentation/Data and Voice Networks/plant electrical distribution systems) and implement required updates to avoid technical obsolescence.
What You Will Have:
- B.S. in an engineering or related technical field from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum 7+ years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing, distribution and team environments.
- Thorough knowledge of Capital and Maintenance project management
- Experience needed designing and/or deploying industrial controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, Servos, etc.).
- Experience programming and/or integrating with industrial robotics.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in Automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing; connecting principles via automation and project execution.
- Ability to travel, domestically and/or internationally, up to 40%.
- Automation experience in both manufacturing and distribution preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
