Postdoc opportunity to characterize preclinical Alzheimer’s Diseases stages using EEG-based Mobile Brain/Body Imaging
Come join our team at the Division of Cognitive and Motor Aging in New York at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team comprising neuroscientists, neurologists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and geriatricians dedicated to advancing early detection and intervention strategies for cognitive aging and promoting successful aging.
You will collaborate with Dr. De Sanctis on research involving lightweight portable EEG solutions, 3D whole-body tracking, and Virtual Reality (VR) to investigate goal-directed locomotion (e.g., dual-task walking and spatial navigation of virtual mazes) in adults aged 65 years and older who are at risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Our research integrates gait-related EEG signatures with plasma-based A/T/N biomarkers, MRI scans, cognitive and mobility assessment to examine the impact of Amyloid, Tau, and brain atrophy on EEG brain activation during the initial stages of cognitive and everyday functional decline.
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a related field, experience in analyzing biological signals such as EEG, advanced signal-processing skills, and proficiency in Matlab, EEGLAB, Presentation, or similar software programs.
