POSITION SUMMARY
Paraeducators assist with a variety of instructional and classroom support and student supervision duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Associate’s Degree or two years of post-high school education. *Education requirement may be substituted at the discretion of the District by passing the written Educational Testing Service competency exam.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate and related field of study.
- Two years of experience working with children in a learning environment.
- Bilingual and bicultural skills in such common languages to the District as Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Vietnamese (to be determined by the specific position).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with educators to provide essential classroom support.
- Implement and reinforce instructional plans tailored to diverse student needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Assist with behavioral strategies and interventions to ensure student success.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups, reinforcing key learning concepts.
