Job Overview
The IT Project Manager I will be a leader of key projects within the Department of Digital Innovation (DDI) and Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). The position will serve as a facilitator to improve project performance. This resource will be responsible for the creation of comprehensive project plans and all monitoring and communication activities to ensure the project progresses as planned. The IT Project Manager will play a pivotal role in improving the executing capabilities of DDI.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation such as the project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measures project performance and mitigate risk using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Communicates expectations to team members and stakeholders.
- Manages vendor performance, relationships, and contracting actions consistent with project objectives and within DDI guidelines.
- Acts as technical liaison, translates technical requirements into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in technology field or Project Management certification or the equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience
- Candidates must have at least four years of relevant IT experience and two years serving in a project management role.

Salary Range: $86,293 - $144,497
