Senior FP&A Analyst/ Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position Summary:
The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for financial reporting and forecasting function at a private equity owned health care company serving the behavioral health space. The Manager will ensure financial information is timely, accurate, and insightful. S/he will be responsible for generating and maintaining the standard monthly / quarterly financial reporting packages and ad hoc analyses to meet the needs of external and internal users while ensuring deadlines are met. The successful candidate will coordinate and respond to internal and external stakeholders with a high level of efficiency. Candidate must be able to work well within a cross-team environment and work closely with the CFO, Controller and private equity sponsor.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a rigorous, repeatable and scalable planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Work with the CFO and Controller to prepare monthly and quarterly updates to company stakeholders
- Coordinate an annual budgeting and forecasting process for the company that promotes collaboration across all departments and alignment with the corporate strategy
- Conduct ongoing financial forecasting, modeling, and provide management and the board clear visibility into the Company’s financial health and outlook
- Assist with the implementation of the ERP system, ensuring that value add analysis considerations are incorporated into the design.
- Create appropriate metrics/KPI’s, reporting tools, and dashboards that give insight into the performance of the core business operations
- Creating detailed reports and analyses on financial performance for senior management and the financial sponsor
- Analyzing financial data to measure performance including understanding trends and providing insights based on this analysis
- Develop analyses to assess and address core business operations, strategies, opportunities, and risks
- Analyze financial data to explain variance drivers, including revenue and gross margin volume/rate/mix analysis
- Participate in the evaluation of investment opportunities, including; acquisitions, joint ventures, product and service expansion proposals, geographic expansion initiatives, and capital projects
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or economics, and/or extensive professional corporate finance training
- 4-5 plus years of finance-related experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis and consistent career progression
- Significant experience in a strategic finance or FP&A function, using financial analyses to inform business decisions
- Proficiency in using ETL tools (Extract, Transform & Load)such as Power Query or SQL
- Built or optimized FP&A processes that minimized the time from month end close to reporting while minimizing errors
- Proficiency in building Excel models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks
- Software experience with ERP and BI systems
