Position Summary: We are seeking a Software Programmer to develop and enhance the DHP’s internal data dashboards and related applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in creating scalable, high-performance applications.
The purpose of this contract is to assess, enhance, develop, implement, and maintain the system architecture for a data repository that integrates quantitative and qualitative data from multiple Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) sources. It aims to advance the CDC’s data science and modernization efforts by employing advanced IT methodologies such as APIs and machine learning for data gathering, analysis, and visualization. Additionally, the contract seeks to build, enhance, and maintain a multi-level Power BI data dashboard for internal use by CDC’s DHP leadership, research, policy, and project staff, providing a secure tool to access and utilize various data sources. The project also involves engaging stakeholders and providing ongoing training and technical assistance to ensure effective use of the dashboard. The tools developed will help CDC DHP staff identify data quality issues, monitor program performance, address inequities, and track progress toward national HIV prevention and care goals.
Responsibilities:

Develop and enhance internal data dashboards using Power BI and other tools.

Implement advanced IT methodologies such as machine learning and AI.

Perform unit and integration testing to ensure software quality.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software-related issues.

Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure software meets user requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, preferably in a healthcare or public health setting.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.

Strong understanding of machine learning and AI methodologies.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work within the Eastern Time Zone during CDC business hours.
Work Type – Full Time, Remote (Must be able to work within the same time zone as CDC (Atlanta, GA – Eastern Time Zone)
