Overview:
Works under direct supervision of laboratory management. Operates and maintains organizational vehicles to transport and deliver items in a safe, responsible and efficient manner such as laboratory specimens, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, equipment and packages. Performs customer service duties for clients in a way that represents the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of the organization. Responsible for the inventory management and replenishment of inbound and outbound supplies and materials. Responsible for adhering to proper storage guidelines and positive patient identification per laboratory policy.

1. Education: HS diploma or GED
2. Licensure / Certifications: Valid NC driver’s license. Must be insurable and bondable, if requested. Driving record will be verified. Must attend initial Defensive Driving Class offered by the Medical Center and maintain Defensive Driving Certification via examination annually thereafter.
3. Experience: 1-year experience in transport of commodities or customer service. 1 - 2 years experience in inventory management, warehousing and/or a distribution type environment. Knowledge of Hazardous Materials transport preferred.
4. 1 to 2 years experience in maintaining and performing positive patient identification preferred.

Functions as a customer service agent for the organization displaying strong customer service and interpersonal skills during interactions with clients and team members. Provides efficient deliveries and pick-ups, following optimized routes and schedules.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures when performing positive patient identification using organizational devices and software applications. Maintains clinical courier specimen log sheet when required.
- Maintain gasoline purchase records and daily mileage logs. Responsible for maintaining interior and exterior cleanliness of assigned vehicle. Report any damage or service needs as needed.

Counts and replenishes client par locations managed by the laboratory, including picking and delivery of supplies, while monitoring inventory levels to ensure availability of supplies. Supports laboratory supply stocking and support tasks when needed.

Performs biohazard and chemical spill clean-up procedures when necessary, reporting any incidents to department management.

Operates hand trucks and dollies to move products to their destination.
