The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor performs scheduled/unscheduled electro-mechanical repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks on the physical plant, equipment, and machinery within a food manufacturing environment according to high corporate standards. Position Responsibilities:
- Provide experience in problem-solving and determine potential problems with existing systems, operations, and equipment.
- Recommend engineering changes to correct and improve the operating capabilities of plant facilities and equipment.
- Observe, test, and monitor the building, grounds, physical plant, production and support equipment, and miscellaneous facilities to assist the Maintenance Department in preventing operational failures and prolonging equipment life.
- Act as an intermediary with various equipment designers, manufacturers, contractors, and outside vendors to secure services and materials and resolve specific design or operational problems.
- Structure and maintain accurate record-keeping procedures and documentation, machinery history files on equipment, new equipment test records, and maintenance status reports.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for mechanical equipment and facilities.
- Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress of preventive maintenance and work order programs. Identify any adverse trends, take appropriate action to correct, and make recommendations for resolution.
- Procure and maintain the most cost-effective spare parts inventory levels; ensure minimal downtime by securing accurately and sufficiently stocked parts.
- Assign, supervise, and inspect the work of junior maintenance technicians. Offer ongoing training and coaching to foster growth, skillset development, and positive morale. Oversee our performance management program for the maintenance team, and hold technicians accountable to SMART goals.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and effective communication.
- Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (GMP’s, HAACP, Safety, etc.).
- Perform other duties that are deemed by Management to be an integral function of the role and beneficial to Company productivity and profitability.
And then here's what we need from you:
- High school diploma or GED is required; four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering program is preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial or industrial maintenance-related experience and/or training
- 2+ years of supervisory experience leading and developing a small team.
- Experience with low and high voltage electrical systems (must be able to read electrical schematics and blueprints)
- Demonstrated understanding of operating principles of Industrial Electrical Controls, VFD's, HMI's, and PLC's.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Must have a clean drug screen
- Availability Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 3pm
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department, which may be subject to evenings, weekends, and/or holidays (may be subject to on-call status)
