Houseperson
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the PM Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and providing customers with quality service in a timely and friendly manner. Responsibilities vary but may include: cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the public areas of the hotel, deep cleaning of assigned areas, setting-up and maintaining storage and linen closets, restocking housekeeping stations, delivering service items to guest rooms upon requests from the front desk, and helping in laundry when needed. This position is primarily scheduled from 3-11pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs domestic work as required, including but not limited to, stripping of bed linens, removing trash through the hotel, delivery of fresh linen and supplies to room attendants, maintains cleanliness of all stairways, storage rooms and corridors. Responsible for assisting in guest area and outdoor hotel property cleanliness.
- Maintains cleanliness of all housekeeping areas.
- Ensures equipment is in full working order and reports any defects.
- Projects a professional manner to guests and team members.
- Assists with assigned tasks to ensure department runs efficiently.
- Responsible for linen and equipment supplies for entire department.
- Complies with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
- Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Some hotel experience preferred - minimum of three (3) months. Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Excellent guest services skills required.
License/Certification: A valid driver's license is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to exercise excellent communication, organization, time management and listening skills. Fluency in a second language is an advantage.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to guest-oriented situations. Must have a sense of urgency.

While performing the duties of this job, stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting. Lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Push/pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs. without assistance. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
