Established design and manufacture that specializes in technical furniture, consoles and media storage facility is hiring an Press Brake Operator. This is a contract position, starting ASAP.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating press brakes and shearing machines to fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal components.
- Utilize shear cutting equipment to cut metal sheets to required dimensions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine specifications.
- Measure and inspect completed workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Adjust machine settings, including angles, backstops, and pressure, as needed to achieve desired results.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to accurately measure dimensions.t.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or related field.
- Experience working with a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation.
- Experience with additional fabrication processes such as welding and assembly.
