Unit Coordinator-Neurology- Lunder 8
We are seeking an experienced administrative profession for a highly visible role within our prestigious Lunder 8 Neurology unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Lunder 8 is a thirty-two-bed adult inpatient neuroscience unit. The patient population includes neuromedical and neurosurgical patients with a focus on neuro-oncology and epilepsy monitored patients.
This is a permanent nights position in medical administration, therefore only full-time candidates seeking an August or September start date, will be prioritized for consideration at this time.
Schedule
- Full-time Nights (7pm-7:30am)
- 36 hours per week, rotational weekends and holiday schedule.
As a Unit Coordinator, you will . . .
- Play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff.
- Transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that the medical treatments and procedures are carried out and order supplies for the unit.
- Acts as the central contact person for the nursing unit; performs transcription, clerical and reception duties; and will become an expert user in Epic.
- Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee to coordinate the non-nursing/non-clinical activities essential to the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
- Requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.
