Job purpose
Co-Diagnostics Inc, (Co-Dx) is a Salt Lake City molecular diagnostics company committed to finding innovative diagnostic solutions to global health problems as we develop an at-home and point-of-care PCR test platform to detect viruses and other pathogens. The Lab Manager Assistant helps ensure a laboratory operates smoothly by scheduling staff, reordering supplies, and maintaining all security protocols and standards. They understand laboratory safety and know how to ensure laboratories are safe and continue to operate without interruption.
Duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)
R & D Inventory and Quartzy Management
- Maintain R&D Inventory by requesting inventory items through Quartzy.
- Stocking Inventory in labs and in storage.
- Maintain clear and updated labels of inventory with “R&D Only” labels.
- Add/Remove Users to Quartzy.
Cleaning – Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Assist with weekly cleaning if necessary. Ensure cleanings occur weekly.
- Inspect lab weekly for cleanliness, hazards, broken equipment, etc.
- Provide and maintain any required cleaning materials.
- Constantly looking for areas to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Maintenance - Annual, Preventative, and Repairs
- Report broken equipment to site or corporate lab manager.
- Perform the weekly preventative maintenance tasks on Asset Panda.
- Be available for any third-party maintenance personnel. Escort them in the lab.
New Equipment Purchases
- Assist with new equipment installations.
Laboratory Communications
- Keep lab personnel updated on any new training, upcoming calibrations, new hires, laboratory closure, cleaning updates, upcoming pest control, etc.
- Job site and regular attendance is required.
- Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Certifications, etc.)
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in chemistry and/or biology disciplines with laboratory-based courses

Working conditions
- May be required to wear PPE such as lab coat, safety glasses and/or face shields, safety gloves, and other safety equipment as needed.
- May work a variety of shifts that include a traditional workday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, etc.), a 9/8/80 schedule with every other Friday off, or other shifts as may be assigned.
- Remote work is not available for this role.
- Travel on an occasional basis may be required (20-30%) to travel to all company locations.
Physical requirements
- This job requires long periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
- There will be stooping, bending, and twisting.
- Based on the nature of the medical devices being manufactured, the ambient air temperature and/or humidity levels may fluctuate.
- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance on a regular basis.
- Fine motor coordination with hand and finger dexterity.
- Good visual acuity including color perception.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
