My client is a privately-owned, specialty property and casualty (P&C) insurance company headquartered in New Jersey. They are looking to bring on an actuary to their pricing team.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate business profitability and recommend portfolio optimization strategies

Design dashboards and key monitoring exhibits to track portfolio metrics and execute strategic initiatives

Apply actuarial methodologies to solve complex business problems across Property and Casualty insurance products

Price large commercial property accounts using various actuarial pricing methods

Collaborate within a cross-functional team to formulate and support business strategies
-
Develop innovative solutions independently and contribute to team projects

Build and enhance tools and models to improve business processes
-
Mentor and provide training to junior analysts

Lead and manage large-scale projects involving multiple disciplines
Qualifications:

ACAS/FCAS designation
-
5-10 years of actuarial experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in Property Pricing, ideally with Binding Authority experience

Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and propose creative solutions

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel

Programming knowledge (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python, Tableau) preferred

Ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Experience managing large-scale projects is a plus
