Under the supervision of the District Sales Manager, the Attended Donation/Xpress Attendant (ADCX) is responsible for accepting donations from the public, distributing donation receipts, sorting, stacking, and moving raw material to the proper staging area.
Greets and assists donors in a friendly and courteous manner. Demonstrates superior customer service at all times. Responsible for accepting or rejecting donations based on condition of items and Agency policy. Declines unacceptable donations in a friendly, positive manner.
Maintain the quality and security of donated items and the safety of customers/donors (ie. Only authorized personnel in work areas). Keeps work area free of safety hazards. Works in a safe, organized manner.
Responsible for opening and closing of assigned donation site in a timely manner.
Records and maintains donor records in a neat and accurate manner. Enters donor count manually or electronically as requested throughout the day.
Informs District Sales Managers of trailer/site capacity and supply or material needs throughout the day.
Active participation of loading trailers, with the assistance of drivers.
Handles all donated materials, in a careful and safe manner to maximize their value.
Record and maintain donations of Electronic Waste (E-Waste) accurately and legibly; and in accordance with the State of California recycling requirements.
Ensures all material containers are properly labeled and scanned into and out of the electronic warehouse management system in a timely and accurate manner.
Material handling to include pre-sorting of hard and soft goods, placing trash in appropriate containers.
Regular attendance is required to perform the essential functions of the job.
Observe and support all Agency policies and procedures.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Performs other related duties as assigned by the District Sales Manager.
ducation Required: Elementary education.
Experience Required: None required, but six months customer service work experience and/or six months material handling is highly desirable.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge Required: Ability to work with diverse populations, ability to interact courteously with the public and ability to work with minimum supervision. Knowledge of material handling is all highly desirable.
Equipment Used: PDA, totes, tri-walls, hand trucks, appliance hand trucks, pallet jacks, power lifts
and other processing equipment.

JOB SETTING
Variable working conditions, exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures ranging from 25-115 degrees. Flexible work schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings. Work environment is fast paced with high activity demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ambulate, reach and lift 50 lbs.; bend/lift from the waist; stand for long periods of time; good hand/eye coordination, and dexterity in upper extremities and upper torso.
