High CTAE Early Childhood Teacher
Position: CTAE Early Childhood Teacher (High School)
Reports To: Principal
Salary: As set by the BCBOE in accordance with the Teacher Pay Scale
Terms of Employment: 190 days per year; 8 hours per day
Evaluator: Performance will be evaluated annually by the principal or designee
Job Summary: The CTAE Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for teaching the theoretical and practical concepts, strategies and techiques associated with the field of Early Childhood Eduation within the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) framework, assesses and encurages student progress, and manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Science or Child-Development related field required
Licenses/Certification:
- Valid Georgia professional service certificate in Early Childhood Education or Family and Consumer Science
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of fundamental principles in the field of Child Development/Education

Knowledge of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner

Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to the field of Child Development/Education

Knowledge of current industry standards in the field of Child Development /Education

Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Teach students the fundamentals of Early Childhood Education including the applications and laboratory techniques commonly used in the industry

Instructs students using effective instructional strategies such as research projects, group discussions, cooperative learning, project and problem based learning

Prepares engaging and challenging lessons for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate

Presents and leads students in demonstrations and laboratory experiment utlizing appropraite procedures and protocols

Prepare, administers and grades tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress

Administers various typesof assessments to monitor student's cmprehension of content

Attends in-person meeting and professional learning sessions (GACTE Summer Conference)

Makes industry connections for the purpose of facilitating real world expereinces for students such as classroom guest speakers, job shadows, service learning and work based learning

Assist students as an advisor/sponsor for CTAE student organizations and infuses co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) expereinces for students in the program for the purpose of leadership development, advance technical skill attainment, workforce readiness preparation and college career-related skills

Analyze data to improve instruction and models instructional strategies which promote student achievement

Enhance course content in the form of remediation, modification and enrichment

Works collaboratively with middle/high school teachers to vertical align curriculum and best practices, where applicable, as well as establishes and maintains industry and post-secondary connections to promote/encourage students' participation in continuing education opportunities including Dual Enrollment
