Job Description
The Scanning Technologist is an advanced position in the Technologist department. This individual must be at minimum credentialed by ABRET in CLTM or NA-CLTM preferred. He or she must have advanced knowledge of the EEG, epilepsy, pediatric and adult normal and abnormal patterns, and artifacts. Thorough knowledge of epileptic disorders, AEDs, epilepsy treatments, comorbidities, ILAE seizure classification and ACNS nomenclature is also required. Experience in EEG review, clipping and pruning of LTM EMU studies and reviewing of ambulatory EEG data is expected. The Scanning Technologist works from home, and performs EEG review, annotations and clipping according to company protocols. Attention to quality and accuracy in annotations and reports is necessary. The Scanning Technologist will work when assigned by AEEG Manager. The ideal candidate is familiar with Persyst EEG software, detail oriented, knowledgeable in all aspects of EEG, epilepsy monitoring and ACNS guidelines, experienced in ICU and EMU monitoring and dedicated to quality and excellence in patient care. He or she works independently with minimal indirect supervision.

Hours:
PRN, minimum 12 hours of availability per week is expected ideally Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and/or weekend.
Schedule minimum 4-hour shifts with flexibility to work longer based on needs.
Compensation
$33- $38 per hour, depending on credentials and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes initial training in Neurotech Scanning Protocols (approximately 4 hours)
- Receives notification of EEG studies to review.
- Accesses EEG database, reviews patient history, medications and EEG diary logs and annotates pertinent information on the EEG.
- Thoroughly reviews ambulatory EEG studies for seizures and interictal abnormalities.
- Meets performance expectations for quality and efficiency of EEG review (on average 6 days of AEEG data review and annotation per 4 hour shift)
- Annotates and clips EEG according to company protocols.
- Completes technical EEG report thoroughly with attention to details, according to company protocol/template.
- Notifies supervisors of completed work.
- Reviews and annotates routine EEG, writes technical EEG report.
- May performs scanning audits of EEG studies if required, checking patient’s EEG data, reviewing technologist reports for following protocols, accuracy, terminology, and spelling.
- Reports quality issues to Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager.
- Works with Neurodiagnostic Educator, assists in creating individual remedial training plan for technologists.
- Participates in required company training.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in LTM EEG, EMU, EEG monitoring.
- Experience in review of long-term EEGs, annotations, and technical reports.
- Knowledge of ACNS nomenclature, ILAE seizure classification.
- Outstanding attention to details and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be good or greater: vision, hearing, manual dexterity, typing, concentrate for longer periods of time and perform affectively.
Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
